Pre-Op Hospital Visit

Miriam is back at Dell Children’s Medical Center today for her pre-op checks and labs. She is a little apprehensive but doing a very good job. Everything looks good so far.

Cecilia is helping and very curious.

And another practice popsicle! She did not cry at all for her blood draw (she even watched). Such a brave girl.

Now we’re choosing toys from the toy cart!

Afterwards Mommy took the girls to P. Terry’s (their favorite hamburger place) for lunch and to play in the sandbox. We usually go there after doctor’s appointments.

I’m starting to feel like this is more a happy special adventure playtime than a serious medical event…

Her memory.will be that… A play event, but first she has to get through the serious medical event.

The hospital staff must be amazing! To turn such a big event as a blood draw into a learning time for Miriam! Definite signs of a medical career in her future! (I still can’t watch them draw my blood!).

Miriam is such a brave little girl to be watching the nurses taking her blood.Cecilia is a wonderful little sister to be a support to Miriam. What a great learning opportunity for both girls.Saying prayers for a safe surgery.

What an amazing little girl. Her confidence comes from an awesome and supportive family, which you all are. God’s blessings on her as she goes into surgery. I think children have that 6th sense and she probably knows she is being cared for and watched over by the Lord. They will be close loving sisters after this too. What more could Miriam wish for.
